Koden releases new IMO GPS compass

Koden has released an IMO-certified high-performance GPS compass, the KGC-300. With its 4.3-inch colour LCD display, it provides high visibility even under bright sunlight.

Heading accuracy has been improved to 0.5°rms from Koden’s non-IMO model, which has 1°rms, thereby ATA (TT) and True Trail functions are stabilised when the KGC-300 is connected to a radar.

When connected with Koden’s CVS-FX or CVS-700D echo sounder series, it is very useful for heaving compensation.

Another convenient feature is the unit’s numeric keypad. Not just for data input, you can also change the screen mode just by pressing the numbered buttons.

The KGC-300 can fix position very quickly, with a boot time of 50 seconds from a cold start. The backup sensor has been renewed and is located in the processor unit.

The unit can be mounted both vertically and horizontally depending on the layout of the vessel.
