Netherlands-based Rohr-Idreco Dredge Systems has unveiled a new series of workboat that will be capable of low-emission operations, making it suitable for deployment in environmentally sensitive areas.

The workboat will be capable of a wide range of applications such as anchor handling and mooring assistance, though it will primarily be used to support dredging operations. Its modular construction will enable it to be easily disassembled, transported in a 40-foot container, and reassembled on-site.

The vessel will be equipped with a 200kW battery pack that can be charged via a shore facility or another vessel.

The workboat was developed in collaboration with local shipyard Groeneveldt Marine Construction.
