The Rust Seeker reference electrode is a simple tool that measures whether a vessel is adequately protected against corrosion. It can also be used to identify the source of stray current.

Reference electrodes have been a valuable part of corrosion engineers' toolkits for many years. The Rust Seeker is the first reference electrode designed specifically for vessel owners. Designed to provide an easy-to-use, cost-effective way for owners to periodically check their vessel, the tool can be plugged into most standard multimeters allowing a whole vessel to be checked in a few easy steps.

Designed and manufactured by Australian company Cathodic Diecasting, the Rust Seeker is available in three different cable lengths – five, fifteen or thirty metres – depending on the size of the vessel. Each Rust Seeker is supplied with a heavy-duty neoprene bag, waterproof instructions with space for recording results, a velcro strap allowing Rust Seeker to be safely suspended in the water, and an extra rubber cap
