The Danish Pelagic Producers Organisation (DPPO) has officially joined Europêche as its newest member, further strengthening the collective voice of the European fishing sector at both EU and international levels.
Representing one of Europe's leading pelagic fishing organisations, DPPO brings extensive expertise in the sustainable management of pelagic fisheries, a strong commitment to science-based decision-making, and a proven track record in promoting responsible fishing practices and high-quality seafood production.
Its membership reinforces Europêche's ambition to unite Europe's fishing sector around common priorities and a shared vision for the future.
"As a highly respected organisation with deep expertise in pelagic fisheries, DPPO will bring valuable knowledge, practical experience and strategic insight to our work," said Daniel Voces, Managing Director of Europêche.
"Their commitment to sustainable fisheries management, innovation and constructive engagement in European fisheries policy makes them an excellent addition to our membership. Together, we will continue to strengthen the voice of Europe's fishing sector and promote policies that deliver healthy fish stocks, thriving coastal communities and a competitive seafood industry."
"We are proud to become part of Europêche and join forces with fisheries organisations from across Europe," added Esben Sverdrup-Jensen, CEO of DPPO. "Effective fisheries management requires strong cooperation between the fishing sector, scientists and policymakers, and we believe Europêche provides the right platform to ensure that the industry's expertise is reflected in European decision-making.
"We look forward to contributing actively to the organisation's work and to advancing sustainable, responsible and economically viable fisheries for the benefit of both current and future generations."
