Norway's Ervik Group welcomes new pelagic trawler to fleet
The Ervik Group, a family-owned fishing company based in Fosnavåg in southwestern Norway, has taken delivery of a new pelagic trawler that will be operated by its subsidiary Herøyhav.
The vessel, which is also named Herøyhav, was built by Karstensens Skibsværft of Denmark in compliance with DNV class rules.
The newbuild has an LOA of 75 metres, a moulded beam of 16 metres, a depth of 6.5 metres, and a gross tonnage of 3,200. Power is provided by a 5,200kW main engine that drives a 4,200mm propeller to deliver a speed of approximately 16 knots.
Power for the onboard electronics is drawn from a shaft alternator and 940kWe and 550kWe generators supplied by Caterpillar. Additional lateral manoeuvrability is provided by two 1,400kW side thrusters from Brunvoll.
The deck equipment consists of Evotec electric winches and MacGregor cranes while the fish hold equipment includes two FrioNordica 1,500kW RSW plants and a Cflow vacuum system.
Accommodation is available for 15 crewmembers.
