Danish builder Karstensens Skibsværft has handed over the 83.7-metre purse seiner/trawler Pathway to Lunar Fishing of Peterhead, Scotland.

Karstensens Shipyard Poland constructed the hull in Gdansk while the remaining construction took place in Skagen. The vessel was formally named on Saturday, October 24.

Pathway replaces a similarly named vessel that Karstensens delivered to the Buchan family-led company in 2017 and that was sold to Icelandic owners in May 2025. She will combine pelagic trawling and purse seining for mackerel, herring, and blue whiting.

The new vessel has a moulded beam of 17.5 metres, a gross tonnage of 4,392, and 3,100 cubic metres of RSW capacity across 14 tanks.

A 7,800kW main engine drives a 4,500mm propeller. A 3,500kW shaft alternator can also act as a propulsion motor powered by two Caterpillar C32 auxiliary generators, providing take-me-home capability.

Pathway is classed by DNV. She is the eighth vessel to be built by Karstensens for the same owner since 1991.
