Norwegian owner's newest longliner/seiner floated out
A new fishing vessel ordered by Norwegian owner Leinebris was recently launched into the water for the first time. The vessel, which is also named Leinebris, will be capable of three different fishing methods including longlining, seining, and net fishing.
Upon completion, the vessel will have an LOA of 67.3 metres, a beam of 15 metres, and electrically-driven deck equipment to help minimise environmental impact. A Carsoe fish processing package will include heading and gutting stations, freezers, and equipment for silage production and handling of by-products.
The vessel will also be equipped with a large battery pack and three diesel generators for improved energy efficiency. Other facilities will include covered working decks, a moonpool, RSW tanks for storing live catch, and accommodation for up to 25 people.
Leinebris will replace a 2015-built vessel of the same name in the owner's current fleet. Following delivery in 2025, it will focus on Norwegian whitefish.
Design work on the vessel was undertaken by Norwegian naval architecture firm Skipsteknisk.
