Vyborg launches first Project KMT02 freezer trawler

United Shipbuilding Corporation’s (USC) Vyborg Shipyard has launched Nord Pilgrim, the first vessel under the Project KMT02 series of freezer trawlers.

The Ice Class 3 vessel will have a length of 80.4 metres, a beam of 15.4 metres, equipment for bottom trawling, a freezing capacity of up to 100 tonnes per day, and a total holding volume of 375 cubic metres.

Three other Project KMT02 trawlers are under various stages of construction at Vyborg’s facilities. All four vessels were ordered by local fishing company Nord Pilgrim.
