Vard floats out new trawler for Bergur-Huginn

A new trawler being built for Icelandic fishing company Bergur-Huginn was recently floated out at Vard’s Aukra facility.

Named Vestmannaey, the vessel will have an LOA of 29 metres, a beam of 12 metres, a fish holding capacity of 80 tonnes, accommodation for up to 13 persons, and two Yanmar 298kW engines.

Delivery of Vestmannaey is expected in July while sister vessel Bergey is scheduled to be floated out in August.
