Tersan to build second 108-metre freezer trawler for Russian company

Russian fishing company Okeanrybflot has awarded Tersan Shipyard a contract to supply a new 108-metre freezer trawler.

The 108- by 20-metre vessel will be the second Project NB1096 trawler that Tersan will build for Okeanrybflot. The first vessel is scheduled to be launched in June of this year.

Skipsteknisk will design the trawler, which will have two 4,060kW main engines, two 1,900kW auxiliary engines, a freezer hold capacity of 450 tonnes per day, and accommodation for up to 150 people.

The vessel will be used for pelagic and semi-pelagic trawling of Alaska pollock in the Sea of Okhotsk, as well as herring, mackerel, and pollock in the Pacific.
