Scottish fishing company Nicol Fishing recently took delivery of a new trawler from local builder Macduff Shipyards.

Fruitful Vine replaces a similarly named 2010-built trawler in the fleet owned by brothers John and Zander Nicol. The newbuild and Steadfast Hope, another Nicol-owned vessel, will operate as a pair trawl team in Scottish waters.

The new Fruitful Vine has a steel hull, an aluminium wheelhouse, a length of 24.5 metres, a fish processing deck, and a Caterpillar C32 main engine driving a 2,500-millimetre propeller via a Masson Marine gearbox. The wheelhouse electronics were installed by McMinn Marine.
