France’s Thomas Services Maritimes (TSM) has completed salvage and recovery work on a fishing vessel that had sunk off Brittany in early March of this year.

The 12-tonne trawler Izel Vor had ended up at a depth of 20 metres off Saint-Breuc after suffering water ingress on March 9.

The trawler’s crew of two were safely rescued. However, the salvage effort on the sunken vessel had been repeatedly hampered by rough sea conditions in the area.

TSM’s salvage vessel TSM Dora was finally able to lift the wreckage out of the water on Thursday, April 2.

Izel Vor was unloaded at Saint-Brieuc on the morning (local time) of Friday, April 3, as local authorities declared the area where it sank as once again safe for fishing.
