Norway’s Gollenes orders Danish-built 70m factory trawler

NAVAL ARCHITECTURE WEEK

Norwegian fishing company Gollenes has awarded Danish builder Karstensens Skibsværft a contract for the construction of a new factory trawler.

The 70- by 14.8-metre vessel, which will also be named Gollenes, will replace a 2011-built Karstensens-built trawler in the owner’s fleet.

The new Gollenes will be equipped for pelagic trawling of herring and mackerel. Power will be provided by an Anglo Belgian Corporation 3,955kW main engine.

Delivery is scheduled for March 2023.
