Keel laid for Russian trawler Kapitan Korotich

Russian shipyard Severnaya Verf has laid the keel for a new Project 170701 factory trawler ordered by local fishing company Norebo Group.

Kapitan Korotich will be operated by Norebo subsidiary Akros. It will fish for herring, pollock, and other species in the Barents Sea, the Sea of Okhotsk, and the northern Pacific.

Once completed, the vessel will have a length of 81.6 metres, a beam of 16 metres, a displacement of 5,500 tonnes, space for 80 crewmembers and fish factory personnel, and ice class 2 notation.

A total installed power of 6,200 kW will enable Kapitan Korotich to sail at speeds of up to 15.5 knots.
