Danish builder Karstensens Skibsværft has been selected to supply a new long-range pelagic trawler for local fishing company Astrid Fiskeri.

The 91.8-metre Astrid-Marie will also be equipped for purse seining and will be operated by Astrid’s Swedish branch. The hull will be built in Poland and will later be transferred to Kartensen’s yard in Skagen for completion in time for its scheduled delivery in May 2022.

Astrid-Marie will replace Astrid, another Karstensens-built trawler delivered in 2014 and which is to be sold to Norwegian company Herøyfjord in April 2021.
