Danish builder Jobi Værft has delivered a newbuild langoustine and whitefish trawler to local fishing company Jeanne Strandby.

The vessel has been named Jeanne after the daughter of co-owner Svend-Erik Andersen, who is also chairman of the Danish Fishermen’s Association.

The 23.97- by 7.6-metre newbuild will replace a 1988-built trawler that has been in the company’s fleet since 2009.

Jeanne is designed to fish on the North Sea, Skagerrak, and Kattegat around 340 days a year. It also has a freezing capacity of 550 boxes, which is roughly double that of its predecessor.
