Gondán delivers factory trawler to Norway’s Prestfjord
Spanish shipbuilder Gondán delivered a new factory freezer trawler to Norwegian seafood and fish farming company Prestfjord on Monday, October 26.
The Kongsberg Maritime-designed Sunderøy measures 77.3 by 17 metres and is of steel-aluminium construction. There is onboard space for up to 29 people, a hold with capacity for 2,250 cubic metres, and equipment for trawling and processing of cod and prawns.
Sunderøy will be operated in the waters off Svalbard, in the Barents Sea, and in Arctic areas.
The trawler is the second Gondán newbuild to be delivered to Prestfjord.
