Faroe Islands-based fishing company JFK has placed an order for a new trawler to replace an older vessel acquired in 2010.

The new vessel will be named Gadus. It will be designed by Skipsteknisk and will be built at an unnamed Turkish shipyard.

The trawler will have a length of 86 metres, a beam of 18 metres, and a fishroom capacity of 1,400 tonnes.

Delivery is scheduled for mid-2022.
