Cemre to build hybrid LNG trawler for Norwegian owner

Turkey’s Cemre Shipyard has been selected to build a new reduced emission pelagic trawler for Norwegian fishing company Teige Rederi.

The vessel, which will be designed by Salt Ship Design, will be the second in the owner’s fleet to bear the name Sunny Lady.

The trawler will have a length of 86 metres, a beam of 18 metres, and a hybrid propulsion system that could run on either diesel or LNG.

Teige Rederi proprietor Sigurd Teige claims the operation of Sunny Lady would help reduce NOx emissions equivalent to those produced by 50,000 passenger cars.
