Naming ceremony for Sander Andre

A naming ceremony has been held for the multi-purpose fishing vessel Sander Andre at the Larsnes Mek Verksted yard in Norway.

It is expected to start operating in the Sunnmøre region early next week.

Built to a Naval Consult design, Sander Andre is the first of a pair of near-identical fishing vessels capable of alternating between purse seining, seine netting and other fishing methods for Lofoten-based Sørvågen company Mirsel.

The 38.65-metre  Sander Andre has a 9.25-metre beam and a 420-cubic-metre capacity for fish tanks, including live fish.

Accommodation is for a crew of up to 10 in four single and three double cabins.

The second vessel Nordhavet is being built for Troms-based Arvesen for delivery in the first quarter of next year.
