French shipbuilder opens new facility in Seychelles

French shipbuilder Piriou has expanded its presence in the Indian Ocean region with the opening of a new facility in Mahe in the Seychelles.

Piriou Seychelles was formed by Piriou and local marine civil construction company United Concrete Products (Seychelles) (UCPS). The new company is based at Ile du Port in the Seychelles Port Authority’s (SPA) Marine Engineering Center near the Ile du Port Handling Services (IPHS) wharf and tuna seine landing wharf.

The facility will initially offer floating ship maintenance services to civil and military shipowners.
