Keels laid for two new Russian fisheries research vessels

Russia's Nevsky Shipyard laid the keels for two new Project 17050 research vessels in a ceremony on Friday, November 26.

Sister vessels Professor Anatoliy Yelizarov and Professor Potr Moiseyev will be operated by the All Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (Vserossiyskiy nauchno-issledovatel'skiy institut rybnogo khozyaystva i okeanografii; VNIIRO).

The vessels will each be equipped with multiple laboratories trawls, acoustic survey sensors, and other tools for assessing fish stocks.
