BIM takes delivery of new inshore survey catamaran

Irish seafood development agency BIM has taken delivery of T. Burke II, a new inshore survey vessel built by Safehaven Marine.

The 12-metre catamaran will primarily be used to survey mussel bed stocks in Dingle Bay and along the east coast.

The boat is named after the late Dr Tomas Burke of Galway, a former technical officer at BIM.
