Norway’s Rimfrost has placed a NOK 1 billion (US$110,000) order for a new krill fishing vessel from local builder Westcon Yards.

Kongsberg Maritime will design the 120-metre vessel, which will run on diesel-electric propulsion and will be operated primarily in Antarctic waters.

Rimfrost expects the vessel to commence full operational sailing by 2020.
