CIMC Raffles launches new krill transporter for Aker BioMarine

NAVAL ARCHITECTURE WEEK

Yantai CIMC Raffles Shipyard has launched a new krill transport vessel ordered by Norway’s Aker BioMarine.

Once completed, the DNV GL-classed Antarctic Provider will have an LOA of 167.6 metres, a moulded beam of 27 metres, a draught of seven metres, and four cargo holds with a total capacity of 40,000 cubic metres.

The vessel will be used for transporting krill between fishing grounds in Antarctica and ports in South America.
