Chinese yard launches wellboat slated for Chile

Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard in China launched a new wellboat into the water on Monday, March 15.

The ABS-classed vessel will have a length of 69.53 metres, a beam of 14 metres, a fish hold capacity of 1,900 cubic metres, and a speed of 12 knots. The onboard equipment will include a water circulation environmental control system, a CO2 removal system, automatic rubbish disposal, and equipment for monitoring water temperature and quality as well as fish health.

The wellboat will be handed over to an unnamed Chilean owner upon completion.
