Canadian Inuit-owned fishing company Baffin Fisheries has placed an order for a new factory trawler that will be capable of operating in Arctic waters.

The Skipsteknisk-designed vessel will measure 80 by 18 metres and will have a cargo capacity of about 1,320 tonnes of frozen-at-sea Greenland halibut or about 930 tonnes of shrimp.

The trawler will be built at Tersan Shipyard of Turkey and is scheduled to be completed by February 2024.
