UK fishing company Waterdance has contracted Whitby-based Parkol Marine Engineering for the construction of a new crab boat.

The 21-metre vessel will sail under the name Winter of Ladram. Waterdance said completion is scheduled for May 2022.

The acquisition of the crab boat is part of a company-wide modernisation effort that also included the acquisition of four other newbuildings beginning in 2019. These other vessels are the 2019-built crab boat Nichola of Ladram, the 2020-built beam trawler Georgina of Ladram, and the recently delivered netter Amanda of Ladram.
