FISHING/AQUACULTURE WEEK

Russian shipbuilder Krasnoye Sormovo will lay the keels of five new crab boats under Project KSP01 this Wednesday, May 20.

The crab boats are being built for the North West Fishing Consortium, which will then hand over the vessels to its various companies following delivery in 2023 and 2024.

The boats will each have an LOA of 61.9 metres, a beam of 15 metres, a maximum draught of 6.4 metres, a freezer hold capacity of 1,000 cubic metres, and a 60-cubic-metre tank for storing live crabs.

The vessels will be operated in the Barents, Norwegian, and Greenland Seas.
