New netting boat delivered to Lofoten owners

Iceland-based Trefjar has delivered a new netting boat to Nygrunn, a fishing company owned by brothers Ørjan and Ketil Sandnes of Lofoten, Norway.

The 15-metre newbuild, which is also named Nygrunn, replaces an older wooden-hulled vessel that has been in the owners’ fleet since the 1970s.

Nygrunn draws power from a Doosan 4V222 596kW engine that drives ZF 665 gearbox. Onboard facilities include a fish hold that can store up to 43 tubs of 460 litres each, a heated storage locker, a large mess area adjacent to the wheelhouse, and three cabins that can house a total of six crewmembers.
