Bluefix Boatworks of Opua, New Zealand, is currently building a new two-ply core composite glass-hulled fishing vessel designed by local naval architect Carey Boats.

The 23- by seven-metre vessel features Carey’s proprietary “gull wing” hull form that the designer claims will help ensure a design speed of 13 knots at a departure displacement of 45 tonnes. Power will be provided by two Scania 260kW engines.

The boat is scheduled for launch in mid-November 2020.
