HP Holmeset orders new longliner

Norwegian operator HP Holmeset has ordered a new longliner to replace its existing 51-metre vessel.

Designed by Ålesund-based naval architect Skipsteknisk, the longliner Geir will be 61.8 metres overall and with a 13.5-metre beam when built at Vaagland Båtbyggeri.

Featuring capacity for a 70,000-hook autoline system hauling through a moonpool, Geir will be able to produce frozen H&G and fillets, and will have a 60-tonne-per-day capacity and a 500-tonne carrying capacity.

Accommodating 22 people, Geir will have diesel-electric propulsion when she is delivered in December 2019.
