Armement Coopératif Artisanal Vendéen (ACAV), a fishing cooperative based on the west coast of France, has placed an order for a new gillnetter/longliner to be built by local shipyard Piriou.

The steel/aluminium vessel will have an LOA of 21 metres, a beam of seven metres, space for eight crewmembers, and an IMO Tier III-compliant 400kW main diesel engine that will drive a four-bladed, fixed-pitch propeller. There will also be a deck crane and a 60-cubic-metre freezer hold.

The vessel is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2022. Its area of operations will encompass the Bay of Biscay and the English Channel.
