Yantar shipyard floats Project SK-3101R trawler

Kaliningrad-based Baltic Shipyard Yantar has launched the second of three Project SK-3101R pelagic trawlers.

Built for the VI Lenin Collective Farm in the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka region in Russia’s far east, Komandor is a purse seine/pelagic trawler with RSW sea-water cooled cargo tanks.

Designed by Norwegian firm Skipskompetanse for trawl, seine and purse seine deep-water fishing, the 50.6-metre by 12-metre fishing vessel has a 2,200kW main engine.

The lead ship in the series, Leninets, was launched in November.

The hull of the third vessel, Udarnik, is under construction.

The fleet of three is expected to be delivered in 2019.
