Hardhaus orders battery hybrid pelagic trawler

Turkey’s Cemre Shipyard has been awarded a contract to construct a pelagic trawler with a hybrid battery propulsion system.

Designed by Salt Ship Design, the 75-metre vessel will be built for the Norwegian fishing company Hardhaus.

The energy-efficient purse seiner and pelagic trawler will be equipped with electrical deck machinery and heat recovery systems.

Hardhaus will have the capacity to operate the vessel in conventional diesel-mechanical or diesel-battery electric mode.
