Liafjord orders battery-LNG pelagic vessel Libas
Cemre Shipyard has been awarded the contract to an LNG-powered pelagic vessel Libas for Norwegian company Liafjord.
The Turkish shipyard said the 86-metre by 17.80-metre vessel was designed by Salt Ship Design.
Libas will have a 350-cubic-metre LNG tank, supplemented by a large battery pack, providing an eco-friendly propulsion system.
She will be rigged as a purse seiner, and for single and double trawling.
