Mowi Scotland has completed the installation of 10 new fish pens at its salmon farm in Loch Seaforth in the Outer Hebrides.

The 160-metre pens were supplied by Norway’s Akva Group, which also provided Mowi with new mooring grids, bird nets, HDPE nets, and FRP poles under the same installation agreement. The new cage infrastructure will be combined with an existing Akva-supplied feed barge already in service at the site.

Don MacLeod, Mowi Scotland Seaforth site manager, said the 160-metre pens are the largest structures of their kind in use in Scotland.
