Irish aquaculture companies receive €1.8 million in government grant funding

The Irish government, through the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, has awarded €1.8 million (US$2.15 million) in grants to 28 aquaculture companies to help sustain their growth.

The grant awards under the department’s European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) Programme will support a total investment of €4.5 million (US$5.38 million) in the aquaculture sector, particularly in oyster, mussels, trout, and seaweed farming.

The grants are co-funded by the Irish government and the European Union and are subject to terms and conditions.
