Indonesian shipyard to convert barge into floating fish farm

Singapore-based Aquaculture Centre of Excellence (ACE) has awarded Indonesia’s Vallianz Holdings a contract to convert an existing cargo barge into a floating, closed-containment fish farm.

Upon its expected completion by the second quarter of 2021, the farm will be anchored in the Northern coast of Singapore near the coast of Pulau Ubin, where it will operate as a nursery and hatchery.

The conversion work will be carried out at the facilities of Vallianz subsidiary United Sindo Perkasa shipyard in Batam.
