Grieg Seafood Shetland orders Meercat workboat

Scottish company Grieg Seafood Shetland, a subsidiary of Grieg Seafood of Norway, has placed an order for a new aquaculture workboat from Hythe-based Meercat Boats.

The vessel will be used to support Grieg Seafood Shetland’s Atlantic Salmon farming operations in Scotland.

The workboat will have a length of 15.75 metres, a beam of 6.7 metres, a draught of 1.3 metres, and a cargo deck capable of loads of up to 27 tonnes. One Doosan 212kW main engine will give the vessel a bollard pull of five tonnes.
