Ukraine: Transparency to be a part of future USPA dredging tender

Dredging works will become clear and predictable for businesses and the transparency of the tender documents will be increased as part of a “restart” in relations between Ukrainian Seaports Authority (USPA) and leading Ukrainian and international dredging companies.

USPA hopes that the new tender procedures will become a model of transparency and openness and as such have extended the deadline for submissions for the dredging of the port of Yuzhnyi by two months.

The works required at Yuzhnyi includes the reconstruction of the sea approach canal and inland approaches to the deep-water berths of Yuzhnyi seaport and reconstruction of water approaches, maneuvering areas and operational water areas around the port.

In relation to the current Yuzhnyi bidding, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has received two complaints from bidding companies, Jan de Nul of Belgium and Van Oord Ukraine, a subsidiary of the Dutch marine construction company.
