Rodman catamaran delivered to Trasmapi

Spanish shipbuilder Rodman has delivered a 28.4-metre catamaran to ferry operator Transmapi.

The vessel is the first high-speed vessel built in Spain under the HSC 2000 code which dictates speed limits for passenger vessels, Rodman said.

By the end of 2015, Rodman and Trasmapi signed the contract for the design and build of the vessel towards the end of 2015.

The 28.4-metre vessel has a 300-passenger capacity and will cover the route between the Balearic islands of Ibiza and Formentera.

The vessel reached a maximum speed of 29 knots during trials and has a cruising speed of 25 knots.
