Macduff Ship Design wins aquaculture vessel contract

Macduff Ship Design has a new contract for the design of a 23-metre work boat, designed as a support vessel for the aquaculture market. The contract continues the relationship between Inverlussa Marine Services and Macduff Ship Design following two previous workboat designs.

The build contract has been placed with a Norwegian yard, and Gina Mary is due for handover in April 2017, with an option for another vessel to be delivered in Q3 of 2017.

The vessel will measure 23 metres LOA by 9.7 metres in beam by 3.5 metres deep and have the ability to carry 100 tonnes of deck cargo. She will have a full Caterpillar engine package with twin C18 main engines driving fixed pitch propellers in nozzles. The vessel is also fitted with a heavy duty stern roller, winch and chain stopper and accommodation for six – with three double cabins and a large galley, mess and lounge area.
