Keel laid for future US Navy submarine Idaho

General Dynamics Electric Boat laid the keel for the future US Navy attack submarine USS Idaho on Monday, August 24.

The submarine will be the 26th in the Virginia-class as well as the fifth US Navy ship to be named after the state of Idaho.

Once completed, the future Idaho will have a length of 115 metres, a maximum diving depth of 243 metres, a speed of 25 knots, and a crew of 135.
