Huntington Ingalls Industries' (HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division delivered the future guided missile destroyer USS Delbert D. Black to the US Navy on Friday, April 24.
The 68th Arleigh Burke-class destroyer is also the first ship to honour Delbert D. Black, the first Master Chief Petty Officer of the US Navy.
The future Delbert D. Black has a length of 160 metres, a displacement of 9,300 tonnes, and four General Electric LM2500-30 gas turbines with a combined output of 75 MW.
