Austal USA delivered the expeditionary fast transport (EPF) USNS Puerto Rico to the US Navy on Tuesday, December 10.
The aluminium catamaran vessel has a length of 103 metres, a beam of 28.5 metres, a draught of 3.83 metres, a crew of 41, and capacity for up to 312 troops and two helicopters. Four MTU 20V8000 M71L diesel engines deliver a maximum speed of 43 knots.
Puerto Rico is the 11th Spearhead-class EPF built by Austal USA for the US Navy.
