Floating dry docks arrive in Caribbean

Two floating dry docks have arrived safely at Damen Shiprepair Curacao, a Dutch Caribbean island.

Transported by COSCO Shipping’s heavy-lift vessel Xin Guang Hua, the floating docks are part of Damen’s US$40 million investment in the yard’s infrastructure and equipment.

The 255-metre semi-submersible sailed 5,000 miles from the Port of Rotterdam to transport the 120-metre floating dry dock, accommodated inside the 230-metre Panama dock.

They were assisted into the port by the Curacao Port authorities and KTK Tugs.

The dry docks are expected to be operational by August.
