Suezmax tanker newbuild delivered to Imola Navigation

NAVAL ARCHITECTURE WEEK

Japan Marine United (JMU) handed over a new Suezmax tanker to Bahamas-registered shipowner Imola Navigation.

The LR-classed Dimitrios has an LOA of 274.3 metres, a beam of 48 metres, a deadweight of over 159,000 tonnes, and accommodations for 28 crewmembers.

To ensure improved fuel efficiency, the ship’s MAN B&W 7S65ME-C8.5 main diesel engine has been fitted with electronic controls and low-friction paint was used on the hull. The cargo tanks and ballast tanks have been coated with IMO PSPC III-compliant anti-corrosion paint.
