SAAM acquires 2018-built tug for Panama operations

SAAM Valparaíso, a tug which recently joined the SAAM towage fleet, will soon begin supporting the company’s operations in Panama.

The Robert Allan Ltd-designed 24.4- by 11.25-metre tug was originally completed at Turkey’s Sanmar Shipyards in 2018. It has a bollard pull of 70 tonnes courtesy of two Kongsberg 4,200kW engines.

SAAM Valparaíso will be used to serve the ports of Colón and Manzanillo.
