JR Shipping adds 2011-built containership trio to fleet

Aalderdijk

Netherlands-based JR Shipping has added three container feeders to its fleet.

The newest additions are the 1,436TEU vessels Aalderdijk (pictured), Akerdijk, and Alsterdijk, which were all built by China’s Sainty Shipyard in 2011 and were previously owned by Navigia Shipmanagement.

A fourth ship in the same series, Amerdijk, is set to join its sisters in the JR Shipping fleet within the next few months.

Aalderdijk and Akerdijk have been renamed Essence and Escape, respectively, and have already begun sailing operationally under their new owners.
